Patience is a virtue few possess. Waiting, wondering, anticipating … there’s a difficulty in being “almost there”. Like waiting for test results, anticipating the arrival of a baby or reunion of a loved one, wondering if you’ll get that promotion. Mary, the mother of Jesus ... the mother of the Living Word ... was a good example in that she trusted in the Voice she heard. Her Hope was in the Son she would bear. No matter your story, with that same Hope, you’ll get there. It can be a lonely road, but with a willing heart, trust God to provide all you need.
Hebrews 10:36 - “For ye have need of patience, that, after ye have done the will of God, ye might receive the promise.” Luke 8:15 - “But that on the good ground are they, which in an honest and good heart, having heard the word, keep it, and bring forth fruit with patience.” Titus 2:13 - “Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ;” 2Samuel 22:31 - “As for God, his way is perfect; the word of the LORD is tried: he is a buckler to all them that trust in him.” Philippians 4:19 - “But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.”
You're almost where the waiting ends! Like Mary, who carried the Holy Prince, put your Hope in the glory of the long-awaited One, Jesus Christ! Soon you will almost be where the journey ends, where death will die and life begins. Pray for strength to do your part. Our gift, our answered prayer is Emmanuel, God with us. Believer, you’re almost there!
