A bulletproof vest is an item of body armour that helps absorb the impact and reduce or stop penetration to the torso from firearm-fired projectiles and fragmentation from explosions. A soft vest is typically worn by police officers, prison guards, security guards and some private citizens. Soldiers, SWAT teams and special operations forces wear hard armours for protection against rifle ammunition.
These vests are worn for physical protection but did you know the Bible is our source of protection, too? It gives us the armour we need to fight the spiritual battles of life.
Ephesians 6: 10-13 – “Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might. 11 Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. 12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. 13 Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.”
If you are a saved child of God, you share the victory of the Cross! There is no need to keep dodging arrows from your past! Put on the armour of God, look forward and don’t let fear or doubt shoot you down!
Ephesians 6:14-18 – “Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness; 15 And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace; 16 Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. 17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God: 18 Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;”
Our victory is not in this flesh and bone, it's in the Cross and sealed with that Holy Spirit of promise. 1Corinthians 15:57 - “But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.”
No worries, believer, our souls are “bulletproof”!
