Ready, set, go! It’s another wild day … the alarm clock’s screaming, bare feet hit the floor, it’s off to the races, everybody out the door. Feeling like I’m falling behind, it’s a crazy life! Ninety miles an hour, going fast as I can, trying to push a little harder, trying to get the upper hand. So much to do in so little time, it’s a crazy life! When the stress is on the rise in my heart, I feel the Lord say, “Just breathe; come and rest at my feet.” Matthew 11:28 - “Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.” Psalms 16:8 - “I have set the LORD always before me: because he is at my right hand, I shall not be moved.” Psalms 46:10 - “Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth.” Philippians 4:19 - “But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.” John 14:27 - “Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.” Hebrews 4:16 - “Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.”
It’s my third cup of joe just to get me through the day, I want to make the most of time but I feel it slip away. I wonder if there’s something more to this crazy life. I’m busy, busy, busy, and it’s no surprise to see that I only have time for me, me, me. I stop and pray to my Jesus, try to focus on Him, then hang on tight for another wild day. When it starts to fall apart, in my heart I hear Him say, “Just breathe. Take it in, fill your lungs. My peace overcomes. Let your weary spirit rest at my feet. I am all you need.”
