Is our divided country and the endless political news getting you down? All of the campaign lies and nonsense going on in our country, along with the atrocities happening in Israel -- add to that the lack of journalism and reporting from most of the big news media outlets -- it is causing stress and fear among many.
God’s Holy Word has much to say about fear; the word ‘fear’ appears 385 times in the Bible. God repeatedly tells us not to fear, but we are to fear God, in reverence and awe for Him as Creator and Saviour.
The opposite of fear is calm, biblical calm.
The Bible provides a way for us to live in God’s peace instead of the world’s fear and worry.
Isaiah 6:25-30 – “Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on. Is not the life more than meat, and the body than raiment? 26 Behold the fowls of the air: for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feedeth them. Are ye not much better than they? 27 Which of you by taking thought can add one cubit unto his stature? 28 And why take ye thought for raiment? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they toil not, neither do they spin: 29 And yet I say unto you, That even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. 30 Wherefore, if God so clothe the grass of the field, which to day is, and to morrow is cast into the oven, shall he not much more clothe you, O ye of little faith?”Seek ye first the kingdom of God (Matthew 6:31-34) (Luke 12:29 - 12:32)
Our lives are in God’s hands. If we will care for our souls, it is the best cure of our caring for the things of this world. No matter the outcome of the upcoming presidential election, we must not be fearful for the future. God is in control!
Remember the story in Matthew 8:23-27, when the disciples were panicked in their storm-tossed boat on Galilee? Jesus arose and rebuked the winds and the sea, and there was great calm. Even the winds and sea obey Jesus! We serve an all-knowing, ever-present, all-powerful God!

Mark 4:39 - “And he arose, and rebuked the wind, and said unto the sea, Peace, be still. And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm.”
Just as the Bible says to not boast of to morrow, we also must not be fearful concerning the events of tomorrow. Do not fear; be calm. God’s got it!
