What’s your story? We all have a story, some with chapters we enjoy looking back on and some with chapters we don’t like to recall. Maybe we’re living in a difficult chapter right now, with hurt and pain or challenges that aren’t easy to overcome.
Quite often, the most painful chapters of our lives are the ones God uses to teach us something. But He doesn’t want us to carry the burden alone. Isaiah 41:13 – “For I the LORD thy God will hold thy right hand, saying unto thee, Fear not; I will help thee.”
God promises to support and help His children … are you His child? Have you prayed and asked Him for help? Luke 11:11 - “If a son shall ask bread of any of you that is a father, will he give him a stone? or if he ask a fish, will he for a fish give him a serpent?” All the should’ve beens, could’ve beens, wrong turns and bridges burned are history you can’t rewrite, so don’t stay trapped inside your past. Every tear brought you to where you are. God has a plan for your life! Look to Him and He will sustain you and give you the strength you need. Psalms 55:22 - “Cast thy burden upon the LORD, and he shall sustain thee: he shall never suffer the righteous to be moved.”
Send your regrets packing. Don’t let satan keep you down! Look at past mistakes as stepping stones to getting you exactly where you are. Philippians 3:13-14 - “Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, 14I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.” Press toward the mark! Every road and every bend in this roadtrip called ‘life’ matters!
God is in control … always has been, always will be. If you let Him 'take the wheel', you aren’t promised a smooth ride but you will certainly make it to your heavenly destination. Matthew 5:39-40 – “But I say unto you, That ye resist not evil: but whosoever shall smite thee on thy right cheek, turn to him the other also. 40 And if any man will sue thee at the law, and take away thy coat, let him have thy cloke also."
Mercy always finds a way to wrap your blisters up in grace. Hebrews 4:16 - “Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.”
Each mile on your road trip brought you to Jesus in your own unique way. Each mile matters!
