Almighty God's supreme power and authority highlights His ability to provide, protect, and execute His will. His overwhelming strength and sufficiency is the ultimate source of blessing and sustenance.
El is the Hebrew name for God (אל) and comes from a root word meaning might, strength, power. The name Shaddai has more than one meaning …, but each give us greater understanding of Who God is and what He does.

El Shaddai translates to God Almighty in the King James Bible, God's preserved, authorized Word for English-speaking people.
El Shaddai underscores God’s unparalleled might and authority over creation, as well as His covenantal promises and His ability to fulfill them.
Job 33:4 - “The Spirit of God hath made me, and the breath of the Almighty hath given me life.”
Shaddai also means sufficient -- God is the “All-sufficient One.”
Both mighty and sufficient describes Almighty God, who is enough! He is more than sufficient to meet any need. He is life, truth, power, provision, compassionate, sustaining, nourishing, protecting, and most of all, loving.
Almighty God takes our weaknesses and makes us strong; in His sufficiency, He takes our inadequacies and uses them for His great and powerful purposes.
Revelation 16:7 - “And I heard another out of the altar say, Even so, Lord God Almighty, true and righteous are thy judgments.”
In a sermon called “The God Who Is Enough,” A. B. Simpson said, “It is an infinite advantage to a weak, imperfect, and tempted human life to be attached to the Source of all power by that mysterious and yet all-powerful link of confidence and faith; to feel that our life is not dependent upon mere chance or our own foresight, skill, resources, or abilities, but that we are always within reach of the infinite resources of divine power and love. This, indeed, gives to a human life an inspiration and an elevation that ought to make our lives sublime. Take the Almighty One thus into your life and be ashamed ever to dishonor Him by a doubt, a compromise, or a fear. He is saying to you, 'I am El Shaddai (the God who is enough); walk before me and be thou perfect.' So let us take Him, and so let us walk before Him.”
El Shaddai--the God Who Is enough. Have you praised Almighty God today? What if you woke up with only the things you thanked Him for yesterday?
