It seems as though there is a new awakening among Millennials. They are said to be the most self-expressive, diverse, educated and connected generation, but many are waking up to the fact that something is missing in their lives. All of the fame, money, possessions, college degree(s) in the world … none of it will get you into heaven. Education does not make one wise -- wisdom comes from God -- and people are feeling the void of Jesus in their lives. Gaming, the latest iPhone and social media are fun for awhile, but they don’t replace a relationship with our Saviour or satisfy that inner-knowledge of a higher power Who has a higher purpose for each of us. The world today is self-centered instead of Christ-centered and we are reaping what’s been sown. Let’s get with it! If we don’t teach future generations about Jesus, who will?
Song lyrics: “The signs are obvious, they are everywhere; all that we hear about is the gloom and despair; too many would-be prophets sayin', "It's the end of it all" because mother earth can't take much more, the hammer's gonna fall! So nature has its needs, that's a lesson learned, but it appears to me there are greater concerns. ‘Cause we can't save the planet, thinkin' we will somehow survive, but Father time is calling us, to save somebody's life. So, I won't bend and I won't break and I won't water down my faith; I won't compromise in a world of desperation! What has been I cannot change, but for tomorrow and today, I must be a Light for future generations. If we could find a way to preserve our faith, so those who follow us see the price that was paid, then maybe when they question what it's gonna take to survive, they'll find the strength to carry on in what we leave behind. Lookin' in the eyes of the children, knowing that tomorrow is at stake, when the choice is up to them, will they have the strength to say, “We won't bend and we won't break, we won't water down our faith; we won't compromise in a world of desperation. What has been we cannot change, but for tomorrow and today, we must be a Light for future generations.” Proverbs 22:6 - “Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.” 1Corinthians 13:11 - “When I was a child, I spake as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child: but when I became a man, I put away childish things.”
1Chronicles 16:15 - “Be ye mindful always of his covenant; the word which he commanded to a thousand generations;” Psalms 33:11 - "The counsel of the LORD standeth for ever, the thoughts of his heart to all generations.” Psalms 45:17 - “I will make thy name to be remembered in all generations: therefore shall the people praise thee for ever and ever.”
Knowing that tomorrow is at stake, when the choice is up to you, will you be a Light for future generations?
