God Blessed the Broken Road

"I set out on a narrow way many years ago, hoping I would find True Love along the broken road. But I got lost a time or two, wiped my brow and kept pushing through. I couldn't see how every sign pointed straight to You, God. Every long lost dream led me to where You are! Others were like Northern stars, pointing me on my way into Your loving arms.

This much I know is true: That God blessed my broken road and it led me straight to Him! I think back to the years I spent just passing through. I'd like to have the time I lost and give it back to You, Lord. But You just smile and take my hand; You understand that it was all part of a grander plan ... how You blessed my broken road and now I’m safe in Your arms."

Today’s song was originally recorded by the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band and most recently by Rascal Flatts and Selah. The words have been adapted for this daily message to remind us that we all have a story, and we all have a broken road. Hopefully there are people praying for us, that we find the straight and narrow path that leads us to heaven. Folks, this physical life is our audition for eternity; it’s about whether we choose God or stay on the path to eternal torment in hell. Humble yourself and accept Jesus as Saviour and He will make your broken road a superhighway to heaven!

Matthew 7:13-14 – “Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: 14 Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.” Romans 3:23 - “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;” 1John 1:9 - “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” 2Corinthians 4:15-18 – “For all things are for your sakes, that the abundant grace might through the thanksgiving of many redound to the glory of God. 16 For which cause we faint not; but though our outward man perish, yet the inward man is renewed day by day. 17 For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory; 18 While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal.” Matthew 18:11 – “For the Son of man is come to save that which was lost.”

Pureflix Entertainment has a wonderful movie, “God Bless the Broken Road” about a financially struggling military widow, grieving the loss of her husband. She struggles with her faith, and then she and her young daughter meet a race car driver … (Pureflix is the Christian alternative to Netflix, with great family and faith-based films.)
