We’ve all had times in our life that we question God’s faithfulness, asking Him, “Where are you?” We wonder if He’s even hearing our prayers and if He is, where are the answers? Some of us may even stop reading His Word and/or praying, thinking ‘What’s the use?’
Friend, did you feel the same way when He answered your prayers before? or when you woke up with eyes to see His beautiful Creation; ears to hear the birds singing; knowing your loved ones are all safe and healthy … did you feel abandoned by the-God-Who-controls-everything then?
Have you trusted God during those good moments? Friend, if you trust God during the good times, you must trust Him during the bad times, too. Trials are oftentimes teaching moments and tests of our faithfulness. He is a faithful God! Deuteronomy 7:9 - “Know therefore that the LORD thy God, he is God, the faithful God, which keepeth covenant and mercy with them that love him and keep his commandments to a thousand generations;”
Are you doing your part? Are you keeping His commandments and loving Him, putting your faith into action?
Have you ever had someone in your life who is a ‘taker’? Someone who is always asking for something but never gives in return? How does that make you feel? If we don’t give God what little He asks for in return for His goodness and faithfulness, how might that make Him feel?
Almighty God is the One on the throne, not us!
1Corinthians 1:9 - “God is faithful, by whom ye were called unto the fellowship of his Son Jesus Christ our Lord.”
Today’s song is performed live at the Brooklyn Tabernacle, with a testimony by the song’s author, Carol Cymbala.
In my moments of fear, through every pain and every tear,
there’s a God Who’s been faithful to me.
When my strength is all gone, when my heart had no song,
Still in love, He’s proved faithful to me!
Every word He has promised is true,
what I thought was impossible, I’ve seen my God do.
Looking back, His love and mercy I see,
Though in my heart, I have questioned, even failed to believe.
But He’s been faithful, faithful to me!
When my heart looked away, the many times I could not pray;
Still my God, He was faithful to me!
Regardless of what we do, God is still faithful. We serve a faithful God!
