Happy Halloween! Check out our recent Halloween post here.
Today let’s focus on the great grace of God.
What is grace?
GRACE is the power of God, the riches of God, and it’s how you are able to get saved.
Ephesians 2:8 - “For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:”
Here’s another easy-to-remember definition of grace:
God’s Riches At Christ’s Expense
The word ‘grace’ appears in the Bible 159 times; ‘gracious’ appears 30 times and ‘graciously’ appears 4 times. The very last verse of the Bible is Revelation 22:21 – “The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen.”
God wants us to have His grace ... which is the power of God beyond anything we could ever imagine.
Spiritually-born child of God, are you strong in God’s grace? 2Timothy 2:1 - “Thou therefore, my son, be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus.”
Are you growing in grace? 2Peter 3:18 - “But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and for ever. Amen.”
God commands us to be strong in grace and to grow in grace.
Acts 4:33 - “And with great power gave the apostles witness of the resurrection of the Lord Jesus: and great grace was upon them all.”
Acts Chapter 4 tells the story of a lame man asking Peter for silver or gold, and being without any, Peter gave him a much greater gift by making the man’s body whole. He reminds the high priest, rulers, and others who were there that it is by Jesus’ power the man was healed … the same Jesus they had nailed to a Cross.
That’s great grace!
Jesus calls us to show His grace by forgiving and being kind to others, just as He did for us. Ephesians 4:32 - “And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ's sake hath forgiven you.”
Show someone God’s grace today!
