When you’re down and out, or just having a bad day, remember: The Creator of the universe LOVES you! The Almighty, Who made the mountains and the seas, and all creatures great and small; The One Who knows how much sand is on the shores … He knows your name! Before He formed you, He knew you. Christ-follower, He carried your cross, sanctified you, redeemed you and calls you by name! Wow! Let that sink in … STOP! Don't just read the words ... meditate on that thought.
Now, are you still down and out? Is your day so bad?
Song Lyrics: He counts the stars one and all, He knows how much sand is on the shores, He sees every sparrow that falls. He made the mountains and the seas, He's in control of everything, of all creatures great and small. And He knows my name, every step that I take, every move that I make, every tear that I cry. He knows my name when I'm overwhelmed by the pain and can't see the light of day. I know I'll be just fine 'cause He knows my name. I don't know what tomorrow may bring, I can't tell you what's in store, I don't know a lot of things. I don't have all the answers to the questions of life, but I know in Whom I have believed … and He knows my name!
Jeremiah 1:5a - “Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee …” Isaiah 43:1 - “But now thus saith the LORD that created thee, O Jacob, and he that formed thee, O Israel, Fear not: for I have redeemed thee, I have called thee by thy name; thou art mine.” John 10:3 - “To him the porter openeth; and the sheep hear his voice: and he calleth his own sheep by name, and leadeth them out.” John 10:14-15 – “I am the good shepherd, and know my sheep, and am known of mine. 15 As the Father knoweth me, even so know I the Father: and I lay down my life for the sheep.”
Jesus knew who you were when He carried your cross. He knew that you would fail Him but He took the loss! When you're overwhelmed by the pain and can't see the Light of day, remember: God knows your name!
