There is so much physical illness and pain, so many diseases in this world. Question: When you start to feel sick, what is the first thing you do? Do you take some over-the-counter meds and wait it out? call your doctor? Or do you call The Great Physician for healing? Of course our response and treatment will depend upon the type and severity of the problem, but the point is, prayer should be the first thing we do when we need physical healing.
Are you blindly trusting what the world says and getting treatment, immunizations, medicine for yourself or your child, without first researching what is being put into the temple God has given you? (see info below) While modern medicine can be good, even sometimes life-saving, we must never forget to first seek and trust God for all of our needs. Newsflash: Man is fallible; doctors don’t have all the answers; government agencies don’t always have our best interests!
Let God direct your treatment plan. Listen to that still small voice and He will lead you to the person, place or information you need for healing. It may be that He heals you Himself; or in cases of advanced illness, He may even take you Home. But Our Father in Heaven knows all, Loves you and wants the best for you. He should be our first resource for physical healing ... and He is our ONLY resource for spiritual healing!
Proverbs 1:7 - “The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and instruction.” Proverbs 3:5-6 – “Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. 6 In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.” Hebrews 11:1 - “Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.” Romans 10:17 - “So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.”
Song Lyrics: I call, You hear me. I've lost it all, and it's more than I can bear! I feel so empty. You're strong, I'm weary. I'm holdin' on but I feel like givin' in; But still You're with me. And even though I'm walkin' through the valley of the shadow, I will hold tight to the hand of Him Whose love will comfort me. And when all hope is gone and I've been wounded in the battle, He is all the strength that I will ever need; and He will carry me. I know I'm broken, but You alone can mend this heart of mine. You're always with me. And even though I feel so lonely, like I've never been before, You never said it would be easy but You said you'd see me through the storm.
Turn to The Great Physician and He will carry you through whatever you are facing! First and foremost, be ready to meet your Maker. Where will you spend eternity when your day comes?
