In today’s world, when we get so bogged down with troubles and trials, it can often become harder to see God and how good He is (part of satan’s plan).
Take a moment to be still this week; look through the fog, look back at your trials and find the blessings. You will begin to see that God Almighty is teaching you, drawing you near to Him. That’s a blessing in and of itself! What else do you see? Are you better after going through the trial, or bitter? Look through the spiritual lense. Our God is good!
Three of the gospels remind us in similar verses that God is good. When God repeats something, it is important --
Matthew 19:17 - “And he said unto him, Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God: but if thou wilt enter into life, keep the commandments.”
Mark 10:18 - “And Jesus said unto him, Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God.”
Luke 18:19 - “And Jesus said unto him, Why callest thou me good? none is good, save one, that is, God.”
The Bible tells us (Christ-followers) all things work together for good. All things. Don’t be bitter! The point isn't whether or not God is good to you, it's that God is good. If you love God, you will always come out better on the other side. He will turn your trials into triumphs!
Romans 8:28 - “And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.”
Listen: How Good is God
It’s God will and purpose that we grow spiritually. First, grab hold of God’s resources daily through His Word: Wisdom, Knowledge, Understanding. Faith grows by reading, studying and listening to the Word of God. Don’t be just a hearer, but a doer. Second, be involved in discipleship. Third, be a worshipper of God.
Get involved with good things; fill your life with GOOD. The idle mind is the devil’s workshop.
We are “works in progress” – are we/you progressing?
