Babies. They are the greatest gift! A miracle from God. The moment we see them, we fall in love with them and can’t imagine life without them.
Suppose you were asked to give your baby up for a greater cause. Envision your baby, a boy and now grown, being taken away, spit on, laughed at, beaten, tortured. If that wasn’t enough agony, you watch as big nails are driven in his wrists and feet in order to hang him on a Cross, the most painful of deaths. Most of us would rather die than give up our child, especially if we knew such an awful fate awaited them. But that’s exactly what God did. Love personified gave the ultimate sacrifice for you and me so hell as our eternal destination would be optional. Jesus willingly gave up His life for us. Would you do that for Him?
John 3:16-18 – “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. 17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. 18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.” John 3:36 - “He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him.”
Song Lyrics: From the darkness, I called Your Name; into darkness, Your mercy came! You called me out, lifted me up. How great is Your Love! You bore my weakness, You took my shame; buried my burdens in fields of grace. From the heights of heaven, You stepped down to earth. Innocent perfection, gave Your life for us! We are amazed, we stand in awe! For we have been changed by the power of the Cross. How great is Your Love for us! In Your kindness, You lead me home. In Your presence, where I belong. There has never been, there will never be a God like You … A love so true!
We have seen how great God’s love for us is. How great is your love for Him?
