Praise the Lord, someday I’m going home! I am a saved child of God, certain in my heart and mind that one day I will leave this world and spend eternity with my Saviour in heaven. John 14:2-3 - "In my Father's house are many mansions: if [it were] not [so], I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. 3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, [there] ye may be also."
Christ offers the assurance of eternity. 1John 5:13 - “These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.” This verse doesn’t say that ye ‘might’ have eternal life … it says you may KNOW.
If you are saved, you cannot lose your salvation! John 10:28 - “And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand.”
It is by God’s grace we are able to be saved; we can do nothing to get into heaven on our own. We must accept His gift of eternal salvation … only then will we be certain we’ll spend eternity with our LORD and Saviour. 2Timothy 1:9a - “Who hath saved us, and called us with an holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace...”
It is settled, I am certain, in my heart and in my mind.
Someday I'll pass the glory curtain and leave this world behind.
I'll stand with the immortal, with the happy land in view
and I'll journey through the portal down the golden avenue.
I'm gonna leave for heaven someday, Yes, I am! Are you?Praise the Lord, someday I'm going home ... Yes, I am! Are you certain too?
