It is often said to "live like there is no tomorrow." King Solomon, through inspiration of God, warned in the Book of Proverbs --
Proverbs 27:1 - “Boast not thyself of to morrow; for thou knowest not what a day may bring forth.”
It is true we aren’t promised tomorrow. With that knowledge, how are we spending our ‘todays’? Are we loving God? Reading His Word? Loving our neighbor as ourselves?
Matthew 22:36-39 – “Master, which is the great commandment in the law? 37 Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. 38 This is the first and great commandment. 39 And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.”
With all the craziness going on in the world right now, we’ve got to stick together and show the love of Jesus to those around us. Jesus is our friend, and we must be friendly to others if we are to be like Him.
Proverbs 18:24 - “A man that hath friends must shew himself friendly: and there is a friend that sticketh closer than a brother.”
Today’s song is a poignant reminder that how we live our lives matters, and both now and in the end, Love overcomes hate.
Watch/Listen: "In the End" sung by Dale Ann Bradley
A final verse to the song might go something like this:
“Friend, right now you have a choice.
Listen to our Saviour’s voice!
Won’t you turn, and by His grace
See Him one day face-to-face?”
