It’s a God Issue

God gave us His Word (the Bible) for instruction, reproof and correction. (2Tim. 3:16). The Bible was the foundation and blueprint for our U.S. Constitution, Declaration of Independence and was used for many years as the main reading text for early home education as well as in the public school classroom. The Ten Commandments, within the Bible, are absolutely applied in our core society / nation.

A study by the American Political Science Review on the political documents of the Founding era (1760-1805) found that 94% of the documents that went into the Founding Era were based on the Bible, and of that, 34% of the contents were direct quotations from the Bible.

When did Americans stop looking to God’s Word for direction? When did we stop standing for God’s truth? John 17:17 - “Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth.”

Zechariah 8:16-17 – “These are the things that ye shall do; Speak ye every man the truth to his neighbour; execute the judgment of truth and peace in your gates: 17 And let none of you imagine evil in your hearts against his neighbour; and love no false oath: for all these are things that I hate, saith the LORD.”

God commands us in both the Old and New Testaments not to kill or murder. Exodus 20:13  “Thou shalt not kill.”  Matthew 19:18 – “… Jesus said, Thou shalt do no murder, …”

See related post on the discussion of 'killing' versus 'murder'.

Murder is not a  political issue, it is a ‘God issue.’

There is a difference between killing and murder. Killing refers to the act of causing the death of a living being, which can be either intentional or accidental, while murder specifically means the unlawful and intentional killing of another human being. In legal terms, murder involves malice aforethought and is considered a crime, whereas not all killings are classified as murder.

Each year, untold numbers of innocent babies are brutally murdered through abortion: ə-ˈbȯr-shən : the intentional termination of a pregnancy resulting in the death of the embryo or fetus.

God’s Word doesn’t say ‘thou shalt not kill unless you are pregnant from being raped’ or ‘thou shalt not murder unless you can’t afford this baby or it is an inconvenient time.’

Why is it that if someone murders a pregnant mother and the child also dies, they are prosecuted for both lives – yet if a woman chooses to murder her child through abortion she isn’t prosecuted? All of a sudden the fetus isn’t considered a life?

Children are a gift from God, no matter the circumstances of the pregnancy.

God doesn’t make mistakes. There are thousands of people yearning to adopt.

God created all humans in his image (Genesis 1:27).

There’s a Holy Hand that starts the beating of each heart; It ignites that sacred rhythm deep within. So let that Holy Hand be the Only One that can choose if and when that sacred song will end. I stand for life before the eyes of a watching world and God on High, for the sake of every precious boy and girl. I will rise and stand for life! Truth marches on so clear and my eyes fill with tears for things of earth that break my Maker’s heart. And I will choose to love the things that My God Loves. Make no mistake what my convictions are: Oh, I stand for life!
There’s a choice to make before the eyes of a watching world. This vow we take for the sake of every precious boy and girl. Let us rise and stand for life!

"I Stand For Life" - Artist: Natasha Owens

“Now is the time to love and help be a part of the solution for mothers who are scared and without hope. The body of Christ has an unbelievable opportunity to spread God’s love. We must be bold in our proclamation to stand for life. I have witnessed incredible opposition when I have stood for life, but I stand boldly and unashamed in front of God and a watching world. We must never be afraid to stand up for what is right. Preventing the senseless bloodshed of innocent babies is what I know is right.” ~Natasha Owens

How can the body of Christ stand? Firm on the foundation of His Word. Isaiah 44:24 - “Thus saith the LORD, thy redeemer, and he that formed thee from the womb, I am the LORD that maketh all things; that stretcheth forth the heavens alone; that spreadeth abroad the earth by myself;”

The Lord told the prophet Jeremiah that He formed him and knew him before he was even born, and that He sanctified him and ordained him a prophet before he was born. Just like Jeremiah, we are all created with a purpose!

Jeremiah 1:4-5 – “Then the word of the LORD came unto me, saying, 5 Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations.”

Choose life? The choice was already made … by Almighty God. If you are pregnant and considering abortion, pray and ask God to give you strength. Don’t live with the guilt of taking a life that God entrusted you with, no matter your current circumstance. Trust HIM, seek Him through His Word, and watch His wonder-working power in your lives.

If you know someone considering an abortion, please encourage her to have an ultrasound at a local Christian Pregnancy Center (many are free) and share this message of hope.
