Have You Decided to Live Like a Believer?
“I have decided I'm not gonna just live like a believer, I’m gonna ‘BE a Believer’. I’m gonna turn my back on satan, the deceiver. There's a wealth of things I professed. Things I told people I believed, but deep inside I was never changed, I'd been deceived. The Holy Spirit made it clear to me, there’s only one way -- that’s with Jesus as my Lord and Savior. Without Jesus? I can’t ‘BE a Believer’. To ‘think’ I’m saved by simply being a good person who does good things and NOT know Jesus as my Lord and Savior? That’s living a fable ... that’s not saved. I have decided to forget the game of just being good and cast away self-righteous pain, 'cause the only good inside my heart is the good my faith, trust and love in Jesus brings. When the world begins to see me change, I don't expect them to applaud. I’m keeping my eyes on God as I tell myself, “I've become the work of God.”
The above text are not the lyrics of the song, ‘I Have Decided’ but have been edited to be in agreement with God’s Word. When we listen to music, it’s wise to know what it is we’re listening to and/or singing along with and what the words really mean. The song has a catchy tune but the original lyrics of this song sadly fall short of what it means to be a true ‘Believer’.
“He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him.”
Not all lyrics in 'Christian' music are in agreement with the Holy Bible.
Enjoy the song (we love Amy Grant!) but know that the lyric waters are shallow ... while the love of Jesus is a fountain that’s Deep and Wide.
“And he said unto me, It is done. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. I will give unto him that is athirst of the fountain of the water of life freely.”
