Lord, I Hope This Day is Good

When you wake up each morning, it’s a good habit to get into to pray before you get out of bed. If you don't already, start your day with the Lord, thanking Him for all He’s done and given you; ask Him to direct your steps and give you His wisdom for the decisions you will make. Hopefully your day will go well, but even if it doesn’t go the way you think it should, you are still blessed and God is still God! Is that so bad? In Philippians 4:11, the apostle Paul said, “… for I have learned, in whatsoever state I am, therewith to be content.” Remember, if it weren’t for the bad days, you wouldn’t know to appreciate the good ones ... and to be thankful for each day you’ve been given. Have an attitude of gratitude!

Psalms 118:24 - “This is the day which the LORD hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it.” Romans 15:13 - "Now the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that ye may abound in hope, in the power of the Holy Spirit." Ecclesiastes 7:14 - “In the day of prosperity be joyful, but in the day of adversity consider: God also hath set the one over against the other, to the end that man should find nothing after him.” Psalms 145:2 - “Every day will I bless thee; and I will praise thy name for ever and ever.”

Song Lyrics: Lord, I hope this day is good! I'm feelin' empty and misunderstood. I should be thankful Lord, I know I should. But Lord, I hope this day is good. Lord, have You forgotten me? I've been prayin' to You faithfully. I'm not sayin' I'm a righteous man, but Lord, I hope You understand. I don't need fortune and I don't need fame. Send down the thunder, Lord, send down the rain. But when You're plannin' just how it will be, plan a good day for me. You've been the King since the dawn of time; all that I'm askin' is a little less crime. It might be hard for the devil to do, but it would be easy for You! Lord, I hope this day is good.

Today is good! Lord, we are thankful.
