Love God, Love People

There are many biblical examples of imperfect people God used to accomplish His will … common, everyday people. God wants to use you and me to accomplish His will, too. “The Great Commission” commands us to go and teach others about His saving grace (we are all called). But when a lawyer asked Jesus which was the great commandment, He told him the first and great commandment is to love God with all your heart, soul and mind and secondly, to love your neighbor ... not just to love your neighbor, but to love your neighbor as yourself.

Socrates once said, 'I know that I am intelligent, because I know that I know nothing.' You don’t need to be a brain surgeon to be used by God, He can use anyone because it is through His power His will is accomplished, not ours.

Matthew 22:35-40 – “Then one of them, which was a lawyer, asked him a question, tempting him, and saying, 36 Master, which is the great commandment in the law? 37 Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. 38 This is the first and great commandment. 39 And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. 40 On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.” 2Corinthians 4:7 - “But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us.” Acts 3:12 - “And when Peter saw it, he answered unto the people, Ye men of Israel, why marvel ye at this? or why look ye so earnestly on us, as though by our own power or holiness we had made this man to walk?” 1John 4:19 - “We love him, because he first loved us.”

Song Lyrics: “I've been running in circles, jumping the hurdles, getting caught in that rush of doing so much; I'm feeling kinda worn out! All this checking-the-boxes, trying to be flawless, has me spinning my head, catching my breath; too afraid to slow down. I tell myself to keep this up, that God wants more than just my love. But I've been complicating things; it's just like me to overthink. Gotta keep it real simple, bring everything right back to ground zero, 'cause it all comes down to this: Love God and love people. We're living in a world that keeps breakin', but if we want to find a way to change it, it all comes down to this: Love God and love people. Oh this is freedom, the keys to the Kingdom: Knowing life will be found when love can be loud, 'cause love is what it's all about! I tell myself to keep this up; that all God wants is just my love. No more complicating things, no more need to overthink. Love God, Love people.”

Do you feel like God couldn’t possibly use you? Remember: Noah was a drunk, Abraham was old, Isaac was a daydreamer, Jacob was a liar, Joseph was abused, Rahab was a prostitute, Jeremiah and Timothy were young, David was an adulterer and a murderer, Naomi was a widow, Peter denied Christ … Lazarus was dead! So it’s not about our IQ or ability, it’s about our availability! So go … Love God, Love people!
