If you are a parent, do your children hear you talking to Jesus every morning? Do they hear you praying for them and for strength to face the day?
Proverbs 1:8 - “My son, hear the instruction of thy father, and forsake not the law of thy mother:”
There is nothing more powerful that you can do for your child than to let them hear you pray!
Whether you know it or not, your child wants to be like you! If you don’t have children, more than likely there is some little soul that watches you … nephew, niece, your friends’ kids … they want to be like you when they grow up! So let them hear you talk to Jesus … teach them by your actions. Monkey see, Monkey do!
1Thessalonians 2:11-12 -“As ye know how we exhorted and comforted and charged every one of you, as a father [doth] his children, 12 That ye would walk worthy of God, who hath called you unto his kingdom and glory.”
The way we live our lives and conduct ourselves influences our children (and grandchildren) more than we may realize ... they are constantly listening and watching. Are they seeing Jesus in you? Let them see and hear you reading the Bible and praying. They will become who they are because of you!
