Hopefully you are planning to take time out of your busy schedule to go vote in the mid-term elections.
Why vote?
Christians should educate themselves on the inner workings of government and why they should exercise their right to vote. It is not about voting to secure personal comfort or gain, it is about defending our God-given rights and freedoms for our nation as a whole.
The United States of America IS a Christian nation and we are all called by God to be a righteous people.
Proverbs 14:34 - “Righteousness exalteth a nation: but sin is a reproach to any people.”
God instituted governing authorities and all authority comes from and is subject to God.
Romans 13:1 - “Let every soul be subject unto the higher powers. For there is no power but of God: the powers that be are ordained of God.”
Christ-followers are to be salt and light in a world of darkness.
Matthew 5:13-14 - “Ye are the salt of the earth: but if the salt have lost his savour, wherewith shall it be salted? it is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of men. 14 Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid.”
Which candidates are Pro-Life?
The Bible makes it clear that God values life … He shed His blood so that we could have life eternal with Him in heaven. Read more here and a related post.
Our nation’s form of government is based on “We, the People.” God has given us the privilege of living in the “Good ol’ USA” and the blessing carries with it a responsibility to be good stewards of that gift.
“We, the People” need to let our Christian voices be heard!
