In the four gospels (Matthew, Mark, Luke and John) and the Book of Acts, before He died on the Cross, Jesus gave final instructions for His followers to put their faith into action and go to all nations and make disciples. These instructions, often referred to as ‘The Great Commission,’ were a command, not a suggestion ... Go and make disciples.
A ‘disciple’ is a follower, learner, worshiper, servant, witness. Jesus is the one to whom all authority in heaven and earth has been given (Matthew 28:18). He is worthy! Revelation 5:12 - “Saying with a loud voice, Worthy is the Lamb that was slain to receive power, and riches, and wisdom, and strength, and honour, and glory, and blessing.” One day, every knee will bow to Him … Romans 14:11 - “For it is written, As I live, saith the Lord, every knee shall bow to me, and every tongue shall confess to God.”
He is Supreme … and what He says matters! (There are so many ‘versions’, Which Bible is God’s true Word?)
See My hands and look at My feet; it's okay if it's hard to believe.
I have faith that you will do greater things.
It's My time to go, but before I leave, go tell the world about Me!
I was dead but now I live; I've gotta go now for a little while,
But goodbye is not the end.
Don't forget the things that I taught you.
I've conquered death and I hold the keys.
Where I go, you will go too someday,
but there's much to do here before you leave.
Goodbye is not the end of the journey, the end of the road.
My Spirit is with you wherever you go.
You have a purpose and I have a plan;
I'll make you this promise: I'll come back again.
But until then, go tell the world about Me. For I was dead but now I live;
Oh, I've gotta go now for a little while but goodbye is not the end.
Jesus, in all of his supremacy, is our Shepherd; we are His sheep and know his voice. By virtue of his power and grace, when He commands His church to make disciples of all nations, not only should we obey His command, we should want to spread the good news of His message so that no one suffers in hell for eternity.
He’s coming back for His sheep! But for now, we have a purpose. Go and tell!
