I've never been one to ask for help; I ain't the church-pew-regular, twice-on-Sunday, quote-you-the-scripture kind. I'm far from a preacher, but I'm a believer. And every single day, before I knew your name, I prayed for you. Every heartbreak trail, when all hope fell, I prayed for you. I kept my faith like that old King James Bible says I'm supposed to. It's hard to imagine, I didn't know you from Adam, but I prayed for you … for someone to love me like you do; graceful eyes to see me through. I guess the good Lord heard my prayer and gave me you.
James 5:16b - “… The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.” Job 37:16 - “Dost thou know the balancings of the clouds, the wondrous works of him which is perfect in knowledge?” Exodus 34:14 - “For thou shalt worship no other god: for the LORD, whose name is Jealous, is a jealous God:” 1Corinthians 11:3 - “But I would have you know, that the head of every man is Christ; and the head of the woman is the man; and the head of Christ is God.” Psalms 119:9 - “… Wherewithal shall a young man cleanse his way? by taking heed thereto according to thy word.” Psalms 119:105 - “… Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.”
Whether you are looking for that special someone or have been married for years, God knows who you need in your life and will bring them in His perfect timing. Your first relationship must be with Jesus Christ, then all other relationships will fall into place. God is a jealous God and wants your full attention. When He does bring that perfect someone He created just for you, your marriage creates a trinity with Him at the head. Honor Him by praying and reading the Bible together as one … and watch Him work!
