The world tricks us into thinking some things matter that really don’t matter at all ... for instance, our possessions. We like our “stuff”. But “stuff” can break, quit working, wear out … and what happens to our “stuff” when we die? It doesn’t matter so much any more, does it? Someone else then has our “stuff” or they give or throw it away. The Bible says to lay up your treasures in heaven, not here. Sure, there are things we need … and God supplies everything we need.
God has given us His Word, which is our Operating Manual for life here on earth; it’s how we get to know God and His Son. Reading and studying the Bible helps us think with a spiritual mind versus the physical, carnal mind. The more we get to know Jesus, the more we Love Him and want to know and serve Him. We soon learn that the things of this world are empty; no person or thing can get us to heaven except our Saviour … Jesus is all we need!
John 1:1 - “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.” Philippians 3:10 - “That I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable unto his death;” John 17:1-3 – “These words spake Jesus, and lifted up his eyes to heaven, and said, Father, the hour is come; glorify thy Son, that thy Son also may glorify thee: 2 As thou hast given him power over all flesh, that he should give eternal life to as many as thou hast given him. 3 And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent.” Psalms 16:11 - “Thou wilt shew me the path of life: in thy presence is fulness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore.”
Song Lyrics: I don't wanna' live in the shallows; I was made to search the deep. If You're not in it, I don't want it. I want all of You, take all of me. I wanna' know You, really know You! I wanna' know You, Lord. I wanna' know You, long to show You. Nothing matters more! Lead me, Lord and I will follow. Bind my wandering heart to Thee. There's no life without You in it, I want all of You, take all of me. Anything else is empty and everything else has an ending. Nobody else satisfies. Lord, I want all of You. Take all of me.
Read and study God’s Word. Really know your Saviour … nothing matters more!
