Take My Hand

My father had big hands. He worked hard and his hands showed it. When my sisters and I were little and he needed to protect us when crossing the street he would snap his fingers and stick out his index finger for us to grab. Our little hands fit perfectly around his strong finger and we were safe. Dad always made us feel loved and safe; our heavenly Father Loves, cares and provides for us even more. Whether we’re going through a lengthy trial or illness, just having a bad day, or at death’s door, our precious Lord will hear our cry and take our hand.

Isaiah 41:10 - “Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.” Isaiah 41:13 - “For I the LORD thy God will hold thy right hand, saying unto thee, Fear not; I will help thee.” John 10:28-29 – “And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand. 29 My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father's hand."

Song Lyrics: Precious Lord, take my hand, lead me on, let me stand. I am tired, I am weak, I am worn; Through the storm, through the night, lead me on to the Light. Take my hand, precious Lord, lead me home. When my way grows drear, precious Lord, linger near. When my life is almost gone, hear my cry, hear my call, hold my hand lest I fall. When the darkness appears and the night draws near, and the day is past and gone, at the river I stand, guide my feet, hold my hand. Precious Lord, lead me home.

Those who wish to live for God must seek Him in His Word and seek guidance from the Holy Spirit to apply what we learn to our lives. When we call on Him, He will take us by the hand and lead us into the Light.
