Seeking answers.
Does God speak to you and give you signs? Yes … but you need to listen. With God, there are no coincidences.
You can meet someone randomly, share the Gospel of Salvation and they may say, “I’m waiting for a sign from God to show me the way.” That is amazing. Who caused the circumstances of that meeting? God did. For some reason (satan) it is difficult to realize the ‘sign from God’ is right before them. How is it difficult to see God in the many things we experience each day?
This business of Salvation (choosing between Heaven or hell) is serious stuff … no turning back … and yes, it’s personal, forever personal.
Recently, an ill friend asked for prayer. Medication was destroying their taste and nothing was tasting good or staying down. That afternoon they received a gift basket loaded with fresh foods and fruit that she had not tried recently and it tasted good and she gained nourishment. Answered prayer! These incidents are daily. Getting a flat tire is sometimes answered prayer. How is that? The tire failed in a driveway and not the highway.
Is God sending you a message you aren't seeing? There are thousands of uplifting Christian songs that sing praises to God or tell the story of a person’s spiritual struggle. The words may express how God guided them through or helped them come to terms with their consequences. They sing of personal plights, seeking God’s face and finding Him. Not all music is uplifting or conveys a healthy message but with God, there are no coincidences. One such unexpected song is from 1976, The Wall by the band Kansas. The song reminds this blog writer of my struggle to find Jesus.
Some of the lyrics are vague, which clearly establish a ‘spiritual’ goal that can be applied in explaining one’s successful awakening and path to Salvation in God’s truth.
However, the circumstances surrounding the writing of the song support God’s presence and purpose in guiding the author’s pen. The author, Kansas guitarist Kerry Livgren, became an evangelical Christian in 1979.
Do you hear the message the writer is conveying about tearing down through the wall of satan's confusion?
I'm woven in a fantasy, I can't believe the things I see
The path that I have chosen now has led me to a wall
And with each passing day I feel a little more like something dear was lost
It rises now before me, a dark and silent barrier between
All I am and all that I would ever want to be
It's just a travesty, towering, marking off the boundaries
My spirit would erase
To pass beyond is what I seek, I fear that I may be too weak
And those of you who've seen it through to glimpse the other side
The promised land is waiting like a maiden that is soon to be a bride
The moment is a masterpiece, the weight of indecision's in the air
It's standing there, the symbol and the sum of all that's me
It's just a travesty, towering, blocking out the light and blinding me.
I want to see!
Gold and diamonds cast a spell, it's not for me, I know it well.
The treasures that I seek are waiting on the other side;
There's more that I can measure in the treasure of the Love that I can find.
And though it's always been with me,
I must tear down the wall let it be
All I am, and all that I was ever meant to be, in harmony
Shining true and smiling back at all who wait to cross.
There is no loss!
Do you seek God’s face in everything? Do you look for His clues and messages? Are you blessed with answered prayer you’ve previously assumed was a coincidence? Is this message a coincidence or does it have a divine purpose for you?
God created you and has always been with you. You must tear down the walls and let it be. Accept Jesus as your Lord and Saviour with no earthly caveats or conditions. With Jesus you are all you were meant to be, Saved and in harmony with God … FOREVER. The choice is yours ... and forever is a long long time.
