Though He Slay Me

I come to You, God, broken. In this moment, I am torn apart. Though my heart and flesh may fail, I will praise You! Though You take from me, I will bless your name! Though I feel all alone and as if nothing is left, still I will worship You! With my eyes, I know I’ll see you, Lord, lifted high on that day! Behold, the Lamb that was slain!

Though You slay me, yet I will praise You! Though You take from me, I will bless Your name! In my pain, still I will worship and sing a song to You … You are all I need. Though tonight I'm crying out, “Let this cup pass from me now!” You're still all that I need. You are enough for me, though You slay me.

Psalms 13:1-6 – “(To the chief Musician, A Psalm of David.) How long wilt thou forget me, O LORD? for ever? how long wilt thou hide thy face from me? 2 How long shall I take counsel in my soul, having sorrow in my heart daily? how long shall mine enemy be exalted over me? 3 Consider and hear me, O LORD my God: lighten mine eyes, lest I sleep the sleep of death; 4 Lest mine enemy say, I have prevailed against him; and those that trouble me rejoice when I am moved. 5 But I have trusted in thy mercy; my heart shall rejoice in thy salvation. 6 I will sing unto the LORD, because he hath dealt bountifully with me.” 1Thessalonians 5:18 - “In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.” Job 13:15a - “Though he slay me, yet will I trust in him: …”

Are you feeling detached and struggling to find your way out of the darkness? It can be a scary place when you feel your fight begin to fade and your resolve begin to weaken. We all get to that place at one time or another. Read and study His Word and He will speak to You. Christians are not exempt from hard times ... God gives us trials to test our faith and teach us. “In every thing give thanks.” Learn to trust Him and praise Him in the bad times as well as the good. You will come out stronger and better than before.
