There’s a new faith-based movie, American Underdog, about the life of pro-football player Kurt Warner, and how his relationship with Jesus became real when he met his (future) wife, Brenda, then a divorced mother of two. In his testimony, Kurt said about her, “She challenged me early and often in our relationship about what I believed and why I believed it.” Movie Review
Many people who profess to be “Christians” merely have doctrinal or intellectual knowledge of Christ, but lack a spiritual birth and true relationship with Him. Brenda’s boldness in sharing and living her faith is what turned Kurt’s life around, physically and spiritually. He went from an “underdog” (lost soul) to a “superdog” (saved soul). Her willingness to share her faith has now created an exponential impact. She watered and God gave the increase. Our goal in this life should be to seek Him first; to work together with God in promoting the purposes of his glory, and the salvation of precious souls.
Matthew 4:19 - “And he saith unto them, Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men.” Romans 10:17 – “So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.” Hebrews 4:12 - “For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.” Romans 12:1 - “I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.”
Is there someone in your life who needs to be challenged about their relationship with Jesus? Have you felt God tugging at your heart to tell them about His saving grace? Take that step of faith! All you are asked to do is plant the seed; God will do the rest. Just one tiny seed can yield a tree overflowing with fruit!
