Welcome Home!

Have you ever had an ‘Ah-ha’ moment? When you discover something that has been in front of you all along and you finally see it and grab it? That describes many people’s pathway to God. Maybe you've been saved for awhile and you've strayed away; you know you need to 'get right' with Him ... whatever the case, you know He’s there, you hear Him knocking, yet choose to ignore it, deny it or to simply not answer. The reasons for not answering usually boil down to a feeling of unworthiness, pride or ignorance.

But in that ah-ha moment, you get it. You grab it. The veil is lifted, your blind eyes can now see!

Today’s song by Shaun Groves speaks about answering … and letting God into all the closets and corners of your life.

Come and take this heart and make it all Your own. Welcome home!
Take a seat, pull up a chair. Forgive me for the disrepair,
And the souvenirs from floor to ceiling, gathered in my search for meaning.
Ev’ry closet’s filled with clutter, messes yet to be discovered.
I’m overwhelmed, I understand I can’t make this place all that You can.
I took the space you placed in me, redecorated in shades of greed,
And I made sure every door stayed locked, Every window blocked …
 and still You knocked.
  • Worthiness – we are all unworthy. That’s why Jesus died on the Cross for whosoever, as a substitute for our sin. 1John 4:10 - “Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins.” See also Romans 1:30-32

  • Pride - can keep you from an eternity in heaven. Let go and let God! 1John 2:16 - “For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.” Psalms 10:4 - “The wicked, through the pride of his countenance, will not seek after God: God is not in all his thoughts.”

  • Ignorance – there is no excuse. Whether you accept Him or not, His Word is still truth! Romans 1:19-20“Because that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God hath shewed it unto them. 20 For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse:”

Welcome Jesus home … into your heart. Although this world is not our home, now is the time to choose Jesus and heaven. Doing nothing leaves you destined for hell. John 18:36a - “Jesus answered, My kingdom is not of this world: …” Psalms 10:4 - “The wicked, through the pride of his countenance, will not seek after God: …” Revelation 20:15 - “And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.”

Heaven is the eternal home for those spiritually born. John 14:2 - “In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.”

Walk by faith and seek in Christ the rest and peace which this world cannot afford us, looking forward to the day when He says, ‘Welcome Home’.
