Today’s song is a beautiful old hymn with solemn lyrics, certain to catch your attention, comparing one’s soul to a ship on the sea. The video is filmed in the beautiful outdoors with a variety of Gaither singers.
‘A soul of a man is like a ship that sails on the sea of time. Storms may come and winds may blow and rock this ship of mine, but the reason my ship has never sank and the day is still aglow is because my compass is God's precious Word and Jesus pilots my boat. My ship pulled into safety’s port, my stern was torn apart. The bow of my vessel was so badly crushed, sin waters had flooded my heart. I'd sailed for so long on life's angry waves with my cargo of fear and despair. But I called on His name and Jesus lifted the blame, and now He pilots my ship everywhere!’
Genesis 2:7 - “And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.” Matthew 16:26 - “For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?” Matthew 10:28 - “And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.” Isaiah 32:2 - “And a man shall be as an hiding place from the wind, and a covert from the tempest; as rivers of water in a dry place, as the shadow of a great rock in a weary land.” James 1:5-6 – “If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him. 6 But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed.” Psalms 23:3 - “He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake.”
'I won't sail the stormy sea no more unless Jesus leads the way! I won't ever drift too far from the shore because then I can't hear what He has to say. For I belong to a fleet that’s sailing today on a glorious one-way trip; I'll land safely ashore to sail no more, for Jesus pilots my ship.'
